As I walked home from the train this evening, I felt severely out of place. At least 15 people jogged past me in their perfectly matched Exercise Clothes while my gross sweaty hair stuck to the back of my neck and I trudged along with a bag of falafel takeout in my hand. In fact, I was so bothered by these Healthy People that when I passed a girl in Exercise Clothes walking and eating a frozen yogurt, I wanted to give her a high-five. I will probably never be one of those people.
I am all moved in now and am slowly beginning to feel at home here, even though I hardly slept at all last night and I'm having trouble adjusting to AC-less living after a very spoiled American year with it. Above is an angle of the living room where I am currently parked both in front of and under two fans, streaming bad movies from my computer to the TV until we get internet/cable installed this weekend. This week is probably going to be a lot of sweating on the train, picking up takeout from every restaurant on the block, and cleaning/unpacking/organizing, etc. until I'm 100% settled in.
